I really like the magnolia framed between the pieces of cobalt.
Still no word from my friend down in Grady County. People keep asking, “Do you think she’s safe and warm?” I say, “Safe? Probably so. Warm? Not so much.” I think she’s just SE of Chickasha, and they were losing transmission towers in that area.
Ah, winter! (This from me, wrapped in a blanket because it’s 34 degrees and drafty in this place!)
Linda,
I like taking photos — it began with a photography class in 2001 — and then I put it all away to do what … I no longer know. But the blog has inspired me to pick the camera back up again. And its been good.
The snow should melt some today, if forecasters are correct. But still, for those outside the city limits, it may be a while. My in-laws live just outside the city limits and it took them a week to get power restored, after our 2007 ice storm. For us it was three days.
After two, we were invited to spend a warm night at my daughter’s which allowed us to thaw. I hope your friend received a similar invite — though I’m reminded that the way we received our invitation was by an old-fashioned corded phone connected to a land-line — all of our cordless phones were, of course, dead. Sometimes old technology that keeps us grounded really is best.
